Hiei's Fire PitTurn my bones to sand, just to see you 5月16日 The Way It IsI'll update this entry later but I just got back from the DC101 Chilli Cookoff!! Third Eye Blind was there...so I'm a happy woman!
I wrote this like two weeks ago and forgot to post it. It's basically a run down of what happened when I went to the DC101 Chili Cookoff:
I had such a great time this weekend! I owe it to the music festival sponsored by one of the local stations. We drove all the way to DC then had an adventure finding a parking lot. The streets are so fucking confusing there (of course, Baltimore's city streets suck balls too) but we managed to find a place sort of close. We still had to walk. The lot was by some small soccer field where these short Mexicans were playing. I thought they were children at first.
They had some decent bands, though. Started with some locals. We had just walked in by then so I didn't see much of them. There were so many people there, too...it took a while to get in. Next was Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. They're not too bad...their latest CD's have been slower. The first one was pretty awesome though! Lot's of screaming and fast music. I don't know why they mellowed out but it sucks. :( Next was Puddle of Mudd. We watched them from afar, while browsing the merch stands and getting our proof of 21 wrist bands.
After Puddle of Mudd, we got some food, joked around with each other and the people around us (everyone is so damn friendly at these festivals!!!). We also got our share of alcohol just before Papa Roach took the stage. We started inching closer by then...meshing in the the crowd and staring at the boobies! Boobs!!!! lol Anyway, as everyone knows, I'm a big ol' Papa Roach fan...especially since they love playing concerts in B-more. I really liked their set...although they didn't play my favorite song by them. I'll make it my song on the blog, just in case anyone is wondering. (I doubt so!!! lol). When that set was done, and the crowd started moving away from the stage, we pushed toward the stage. We were pretty close, too. But I was afraid to get closer b/c of all the drunken moshers. These dudes were fucking big, too! DC water must have steroids in it!
Shinedown was next. I've seen them enough for one lifetime but I still sang along with the songs and the dudes put on a good show. That singer of theirs was really getting the crowd going. I filmed some of it! It's hard to film while fat bitches are crowd surfing. But I still did it! And punched a few fat bitches that fell into me!! By then, we were pretty numb from the alcohol. It had been cloudy for the most part and it got worse during Shinedown's set so they postponed Third Eye Blind for about half an hour. We pushed that far up for nothing, basically! We turned back around, got a few more drinks and walked around the area they were having the Chili Cook-off portion. The food smelled so good but no one had any beanless chili!!! So I couldn't have any. The tents were starting to pack up anyway, because of the rain threat.
We husseled back to the stage when they announced Third Eye Blind would be coming up, regardless of the rain. (That's my boys...fearless!) It started to lightning then. I was VERY surprised at the number of 3EB fans...especially die hard fans willing to sit through the rain. And boy did it rain. Just as they were setting up the stage. A nice woman offered me a poncho but I didn't take it. I was hot from the blazing sun earlier and all the bodies pressed against me...so the rain felt good. At least for a while. By the time 3EB got up there, it was really raining. I was too focused on my boys by then. They ALWAYS but on a great show, and this was no less. That damn Stephen Jenkins was as sexy as ever. They played some new stuff that has yet to be released...and of course some old faithfuls. I loved it though! The rain stopped about halfway through their set and the sun came out. I was almost dry by the time the set was over.
Next was The Offspring but I didn't care for them, so we left the crazy crowd. Everyone was coming back to the stage by then...since they were the main event.
All in all, it was a fun time. Leaving was difficult, however. We called someone to drive us home as none of us were in a condition to do so. lol
Fun times, lots of pics and vids! Look forward to next years fest!!!!

5月13日 Talking about YouTube - Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind with Ryan Manno at the 2009 GrammysHe's just so hot...oh my goodness! YouTube - Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind with Ryan Manno at the 2009 Grammys 4月27日 Words On A Page! It's that time of year again where I lay out in the sun. That means I'll be reading through book after book like a wild woman. Except this year, I don't have any major book series to read. I need suggestions! If you know a good book series I have not read (there are plenty of them out there, I know), please send me and e-mail. I do not like reading manga or comic books while laying out. I want words dammit! And lots of them!
I was thinking about reading the rest of the Todd McCaffery Pern books (I think I'm missing 2) but after that, I don't know what to read.
The genre's I like are as follows: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Supernatural...or bizarre books in general. I would really prefer a series of books, because I'll be laying out regularly and that means a lot of reading. And I read ridiculously fast! I'll accept individual books as long as you give me a good run down of what kind of story it is.
Just send me an e-mail or message me. Thanks!!!!!!!!

Go Top 4月26日 Twisted SenseLife is so weird sometimes.
You're just floating along, everything seems to be going ok, you're alright with how your love life is, and your job, and your social life, and everything is floating down Normal River. Then something happens. A catalyst that sends your life into another direction. Changes the way you think and act. And it always happens when you least expect it. If you go looking for something different; scouring every street corner and looking under every rock, it usually evades you. But when you're just going through life, day to day, something seemingly drops from the sky and changes your life forever. Just one moment in time is all it takes to do that. Isn't that amazing? I think so. At the same time it terrifies me. It scares me because I never know what's going to sneak up around that corner. I never know if it's going to sneak around the corner for the ones I love, either. And see if they'll leave me like every one else's seems to have.
It's just been a few months of weird changes for me. Some good, some bad, some are unknown to me still.
I guess I'll just go with it. See what happens.
What other choice do I have?
